About Dianne Fanti
Hi, I’m Dianne. And I'm driven by a vision of living in a world where people have the chance to build their essential life skills as early as possible and whenever needed.
These skills are what empower us to feel more alive, resilient, and capable of creating meaningful, fulfilling lives. That’s why I developed an innovative, research-based approach using experiential tools drawn from the healing and expressive arts. My method makes skill-building not only highly engaging and effective, but also fun.
I know firsthand how hard it can be to grow up without these tools. Many of us were guided by adults who didn’t have them either—leaving gaps in problem-solving, resilience, and confidence. As Dr. Bruce Perry and other experts note, a lack of these skills can fuel developmental lag, unhelpful labels, and even addictions.
But when we strengthen them—at any age—we unlock resourcefulness, confidence, and the ability to thrive. That’s the vision behind the Skill Builders Society: a growing community of parents, professionals, and leaders committed to building stronger futures.
With my background as a Certified Professional Coach, advanced degrees in the Holistic Health Sciences, and multiple certifications in the Healing and Expressive Arts, I’ve distilled the most powerful techniques into practical, accessible resources for families, clients, and communities.
Since 1992, I’ve taught in many settings--from homeless shelters, to community centers and state agencies in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Calvert County, MD and elsewhere online. I’ve also trained the staff at Baltimore Crisis Response, Inc., School Psychologists at Mergenthaler High School, and Holistic Nurses at the American Holistic Nurses Association of Broward County, FL.

called “compelling” and “visually stunning”—and discover a story of transformation, discovery, and purpose.
What began as her own path of growth unfolded into a vision that became The Skill Builders Society.
Along the way, Dianne discovered not only the power of the healing and expressive arts for building essential life skills, but also how sharing them could change lives and communities.
As one colleague beautifully put it:
“Dianne is a visionary who not only dreamed of helping others discover and develop essential life skills, but has tirelessly worked to make that dream a reality.” — Nathalia Gordon, MHS

Our culture lacks
life skills training
Are you surprised to hear that when the school psychologists at one of Baltimore's largest high schools took my RESET training, they shared that most of their students did not have adequate life skills like decision making skills, even as 18 year old seniors that are ready to go out into the world? And this is not uncommon!

Skills are foundational to
our well-being
Would you be surprised to hear that most mental health professionals mainly teach their clients coping skills everyday? In fact, coping skills are cited as one of the keys to overcoming trauma. Wouldn't it be wonderful if people could learn these skills in their everyday environment Together, we can make
that a reality!

Skills are essential
for success
Without adequate life skills people suffer terribly. Their lives can feel derailed with challenges for decades. Having foundational life skills sets us up for greater success in every area of our lives! The younger that we are when we build these skills, the easier our lives will tend to be in the long-term and the future! It pays to start early.
