The Skill Builders Society Imprint

is our nonprofit branch

Our focus is on bringing innovative and transformative programs, training, resources, and community classes to those in marginalized communities, who would not have access to these otherwise.

The trauma-informed, skill-building classes are free for participants. Our nonprofit branch, The Skill Builders Society Imprint, is separate from our LLC. Our nonprofit branch is a project that is now fiscally sponsored by the Maryland 501(c)3 nonprofit The Obasi Foundation.

Skills for Life

We want to live in a culture where:

  • Essential life skills are taught in families and community settings, as well as mental health settings

  • People don't have to suffer needlessly from developmental lag, or build their essential life skills years later through a therapist because they didn't have access sooner.

  • We want to see people grow and thrive, so they can have the very best opportunity to build a meaningful, sustainable, and rewarding life!

Our Mission

Our intention is to bridge the gaps in essential life skills development by delivering innovative, original programs that make learning engaging, effective, and transformative. We empower individuals, both children and adults, to build agency, resilience, and confidence, reducing the unnecessary suffering caused by trauma and developmental delays. Through skill-building education that lasts, we help people to not only cope with challenges—but thrive beyond them, unlocking their capacity to succeed, create meaningful connections, and live purposeful, fulfilling lives.

Why It Matters

The difference we're making

Research shows that healthy outlets—like after-school programs and positive connections with adults and peers—help children build self-esteem, social skills, and a sense of belonging.

These protective factors reduce risky behaviors in high school, such as alcohol and substance use, unsafe sexual activity, and poor mental health.

Moreover, when young people discover and use their personal strengths, they gain confidence, resilience, and motivation—equipping them to handle challenges and thrive now and in the future.

Building Community

A Core Value

At the heart of this work is our core value of community. Amelie, one of our Community Ambassadors, will be bringing our skill-building games to 30–50 children in North Baltimore—showing what’s possible when we work together to create impact. We now have Ambassadors in North, Southwest, and East Baltimore!

We are a growing network of people dedicated to sharing these tools in schools, families, and neighborhoods. You can get involved too today—by becoming a Community Advocate and sharing my 5 Free Resources, you can help bring essential life skills to even more children and families.
